Kristen Brennan M.Ed. LPC
Welcome!
I am NOT currently accepting new clients. However, I do have a waiting list. Please click HERE to enter your contact information and I will reach out when I have new availability. Thank you :)
Feel stuck? I can help! My name is Kristen Brennan, and I am a former educator seeking to work with people to help them discover their strengths, gain insight to make sense of our sometimes chaotic world, and move forward in life. I especially like to work with people experiencing anxiety.

I spent 30 years in the public school setting, 18 as a certified school counselor at all levels (but mostly junior high) where I served diverse populations and needs. Parenting skills and college preparation are two strengths I bring to my practice.
I received my undergraduate degree in education at Texas A&M University in 1990, and my Master’s Degree in counseling from Sam Houston State University in 2001. I’ve always worked hard to learn new things and I look forward to helping you find new perspectives as well!
About My Aproach
MY COUNSELING PHILOSOPHY…
can best be described as relationship-based and eclectic. Therapy should be as unique as the individual, and engaging a warm, genuine relationship is the essential factor in helping clients work towards their desired outcomes.
I believe in the importance of the whole person (body, mind, and spirit). I collaborate to maximize the strengths, resources, and resilience that clients already possess. I encourage individuals to explore meaning, become aware of their own possibilities and limitations, and learn to live authentically. Identifying faulty beliefs, blind spots, and goals of the subconscious can be a catalyst for positive growth and personal transformation.
I desire to be a facilitator of greater self-awareness leading to increased confidence, self-esteem, independence, mental health, and coping skills.

I'm a retired educator, with A LOT of problem solving experience so if you come to see me you will be learning skills! I am a very skills focused kind of therapist. Therapy can be great for insight, but if you don't learn any new skills on your journey, what's the point?
